Almost 21% of all Medicare Advantage (MA) enrollees were offered at least one supplemental benefit in 2019, according to a new study. Of the available benefits—made possible last year by a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) rule—the highest adoption was for caregiver support plans at 17.7% of all MA enrollees, followed by in-home support, 2.2%. Just two plans in 2019 offered adult day care as a supplement.

LifeShield announces agreement to acquire IAC, an Oklahoma City-based insurance company | BioSpace | June 7, 2019
LifeShield National Insurance Co. (“LifeShield”) announced that it has entered an agreement to acquire IAC Group, the parent company of Individual Assurance Company (“IAC”), a leading life, accident, and health insurer with a strong presence in the Medicare supplement market. The agreement has been unanimously approved by the boards of LifeShield and IAC Group. Following the transaction, IAC will continue to operate under the IAC brand as a subsidiary of LifeShield.

Integrity Marketing Buys Again | ThinkAdvisor | June 12, 2019
Integrity Marketing Group LLC is continuing to make deals. The Dallas-based company says it has agreed to acquire Emrick Insurance Marketing Group of Griggsville, Illinois, for a price that was not disclosed.
Integrity Marketing has used acquisitions to create a company with ties to about 200,000 independent agents, up from about 140,000 agents at the end of 2018. Emrick is an insurance marketing organization that distributes Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare supplement insurance, and other senior market life and health products through a network of agents in 21 states.
